Introduction

Aron joined SusMatLab as a research student in October 2025 and entered the doctoral course in April 2026. His doctoral research focuses on the upcycling of waste textiles into functional composite materials for environmental remediation. In his first year he published a paper on hydrogel adsorbent sheets made from cotton–PET textile waste, and his presentation of this work received the Student Best Oral Presentation Award at the 50th anniversary conference of The Polymer Society of Korea. Before joining SusMatLab, he worked in computational and synthetic organic chemistry.
